If youāre looking to flourish as a mom, youāre in the right place!
Let’s get serious about
Did you know that 1 in 25 moms develop preeclampsiaāa common and severe high blood pressure disorderāduring pregnancy and the postpartum period?Ā
For Black moms, the rate is 60% higher than for white moms, and we are more likely to have severe cases, including complications like death. Currently, there is no cure for preeclampsiaābut that could one day change!
As a Postpartum Preeclampsia Survivor and Black Maternal Health Advocate, Iāve learned the importance of being an instrument of change. You can also be a change agent by sharing your preeclampsia story or supporting the efforts of others who are seeking to improve outcomes through research, policy, and support of affected mothers and families.
